ABOUT ME
Jerrie Kumalah is a young professional based in Maryland. She is a social innovator and passionate public health practitioner dedicated to addressing health disparities in marginalized communities. With years of experience in the field, she is particularly well versed in using innovative methods of social engagement towards bettering communities.
She has worked with the DC Public School system engaging youth and schools, the North Carolina Division of Public health engaging communities and policy makers, and the CDC developing a health disparities toolkit for states just to name a few. From developing traditional health educational materials and fact sheets to developing novel approaches for health messaging and program development she has been at the helm of several projects ranging from issues of reproductive health to violent prevention.
Now you can be sure to find her at the back of one alley or another pondering on how to turn these often neglected spaces into vibrant and engaging spaces. Bringing her public health expertise, her interest in creative place making and her passion for change, Jerrie Kumalah is helping redefine how people see alleys all over Baltimore.
